Come learn the building

Ruya is a remote team, across the United States, building the record system hospital facilities teams run on. Nothing is open right now. Notes are still read.

What the work actually is

Most software is built for an office. Ruya is built for a mechanical room on the third floor of a hospital that has been running since 1974.

Our customers are hospital facilities teams. They keep the air handlers running, the fire doors closing, the floor plans current and the survey ready, usually with fewer people than the building needs. When a record is missing it is not an inconvenience. It is a citation, or a flooded floor, or a room that cannot be used.

That is the whole job here. It means time spent in buildings, on the phone with directors and technicians, and in details nobody outside this industry finds interesting. If that sounds narrow, it is. It is also why the product works.

How we work

01

We learn the building first

Every part of this product started with somebody standing in a mechanical room. Nobody here designs for a user they have not watched work.

02

The customer sets the roadmap

Ruya was founded in 2020 and took no outside funding. The next thing we build is whatever the facilities team on the phone needs next.

03

We claim only what we can show

We do not describe a capability the product does not have. That rule runs from the first sales call to the words on this page.

04

You finish what you start

A small team cannot cover a platform by committee. You will own a piece of it end to end, and ship it.

Open roles

Nothing open right now.

We hire in small steps, and we are not hiring today. If you have spent time inside hospital facilities, or you build software and want to, send a note anyway. It gets read.

Write what you have worked on, in your own words. No cover letter.
We work with both full time employees and contractors.
When we open a role it is two conversations, and one of them is with the founder.

Send the note.

No form, no applicant tracking system, no automated reply. It goes to a person, and if there is something worth talking about we will say so.
